Iyengar Yoga for a Healthy Body

In this class, we will practice Iyengar Yoga with precision to build both flexibility and strength, along with deep relaxation and breath awareness, to prevent and relieve physical pain and mental struggles. Iyengar Yoga presents simultaneously multidimensional and comprehensive practices. This is “whole-istic,” not just muscular-skeletally and physiologically. Through that experience, the student finds their own experience and their connection to a sense of well-being.
Various props will be use to customize the practice on your body’s needs while keeping aligned in the pose. If you attend weekly, this class has the potential to transform the functionality of your movement to help you live better in your body.
This class is a weekly class format similar to Chris Miyachi’s “Yoga for Healthy….” Workshops that are held on one Sunday per month, which specializes in a particular body part.
Barre and Bells
Barres and Bells Class uses a variety of graceful movement patterns inspired by resistance training, Pilates, dance, and yoga – and then mixes things up by incorporating kettlebell exercises where we swing weights. Each class, set to motivating music, works the upper body, the lower body, and the core, and incorporates stretching throughout the workout. Get ready to connect to every part of your body and leave class feeling invigorated, challenged, and inspired. The moves are often both therapeutic and strengthening for your body. We will use the ballet bar, light kettlebells(3-10 lbs), and small pilates balls as exercise tools thus making the workout accessible to beginners through advanced. All levels are welcome – you will be challenged!
