About

urdhvahastasidebarChristine Miyachi has been practicing yoga well over 30 years to prepare her for now:  the trials (literally) and tribulations of raising three children while working full time as a software engineer.  Yoga has served as her ground through all the lows and highs of life. She has been teaching yoga and fitness since 1987.  In 2007, she started studying exclusively the Iyengar system,  completing teacher training with Patricia Walden in 2011.  Chris became a certified Iyengar Teacher in 2015, one of only a handful in NH.  In 2018, she became certified at Level 2 (previously Junior Intermediate 1).

Chris’s classes use movement, stillness, concentration, and release  to help you get and stay in touch with yourself.  Her guide to creating classes is a quote from BKS Iyengar: “A yogi’s brain extends from the bottom of the foot to the top of the head. A crooked body is a crooked mind.”  Through her Iyengar study she became a certified yoga therapist through the International Association of Yoga Therapists.

Chris is an avid athlete and embraces the outdoor lifestyle of hiking, kayaking, snowboarding , and skate skiing. She has run over 20 marathons including the Boston Marathon three times and has qualified for Boston.  She also is a long time barre teacher  as well as a Cross Fit enthusiast.  Chris has been certified by AFAA and ACE as a group fitness instructor since 1987, and teaching Barre for almost 10 years. She is a certified kettlebell instrutor (IKFF) Level II.  Finally Chris teachers a variety of Les Mills classes include Barre, RPM, Sprint, BodyCombat, CXWorks, GRIT, BodyJam, and more!
